Question:

Why isn't orbassoc creating any solutions?

I am running orbassoc with the command orbassoc $ORB $ORB ttgrids/tele ttgrids/local in rtexec.pf and don't see any solutions. orbdetect is running fine and generating detections that I see as orb packets and in the db/database.detection table. Why am I not seeing associated events?

You need to specify -select /db/detection on the command line. See the man page for orbassoc for additional information
